Putting mums first
As a postpartum doula, I want to make sure that mums feel supported, encouraged, and confident. There is nothing truer and more insightful than that well-known quote “it takes a village to raise a child”, and it’s my intention, goal, and passion to be a key part of that village for any new mother who uses my services. The weeks and months directly after giving birth are often some of the most difficult and draining of any mother’s life. My job is to make things a little easier.
The three most important aspects of my philosophy as a postpartum doula are empathy, empowerment, and education. My services aim to not only guide and assist a new mother during the newborn stage but also set her up to continue her journey in confidence. This means providing relevant referrals and resources to equip her for the rest of the ride.
My own personal experiences, including having my own children in a foreign country with minimal support, has made me a more compassionate and understanding postpartum doula.
Always remember, you are doing your best and your best is good enough.
You just can't put a dollar value on rest - and trust that everything is sorted. Bianca is such a natural with my wee boy, I have trusted her to look after him since he was two weeks old and that has been everything to me. She also never forgets my older son, who has his own special relationship with her, which helps with the juggle that is being a new mum of two! She enables me to get the rest I need, and I just can't recommend her highly enough.
